Rabbit with Gold Lustre Porcelain Hanging Decoration

This porcelain rabbit would make a lovely gift!

Once I have made my initial sketch, I carve my design into lino, which I then press into the soft clay to create the textured details. People who love the style of lino printing often recognise that in my work. Each rabbit is strung with gold ribbon. Made from white porcelain clay.

My customers often buy one of my hanging ceramics as a Christmas decoration to hang on their tree, however when it comes to packing away the ornaments into boxes, my little birds, hares and foxes often manage to escape... finding a perfect spot to hang out on a door handle or picture hook to be enjoyed all year round!

Once the clay has been rolled out, impressed and cut out, they need to firm up so I can smooth the edges, next they are dried slowly to avoid warping, biscuit fired, shiny glaze is applied, and finally fired to 1250C before threading on the organza ribbon. Each firing takes a day and a half, so its a slow making process!

Delivery and Packaging: I charge £1.55 for postage. Every order is wrapped in colourful tissue paper and is tied with a ribbon (a gold ribbon at Christmas time) and has a little tag attatched. I can also add a short gift message for you if you're sending it direct to the recipient. Please get in touch if you are on a tight deadline. I usually dispatch these within a few days of your order.
