This porcelain and gold Fox ornament would make a lovely gift for someone who loves foxes, as well as unique, handmade items.
To achieve my textured details, I first sketch a design which I then carve into lino. This I impress into the soft porcelain clay. Customers often recognise the characteristic printmaking style.
The handmade nature of my work means that each piece will have slight variations which is part of the joy of handmade items! Each fox is threaded with a gold ribbon.
Once the clay has been rolled out, impressed and cut out, they need to firm up so I can smooth the edges, next they are dried slowly to avoid warping, biscuit fired, glaze applied, stoneware fired at 1250C, the gold lustre is painted on and then they go back in the kiln to melt the gold at 750C degrees. Each firing takes around a day and a half, so it’s a slow making process!
Delivery and Packaging: I charge £1.55 for postage. Every order is wrapped in colourful tissue paper and is tied with a ribbon (a gold ribbon at Christmas time). I can also add a short gift message to a gift tag for you if you're sending it direct to the recipient. Please get in touch if you are on a tight deadline.
